Nature's larder?

I'm not sure what these are, so I'm hoping that one of you nice knowledgeable blipfolk will first of all be able to identify them, and also know if they can be used to add to strong drink perhaps. I thought they might be sloes, but I am sure that I read somewhere that sloes were the fruit of the Blackthorn, and there were no thorns on this.
