Avalon

My wife and I spent my birthday on Catalina Island at the town of Avalon. The weather was un-California like, foggy and a bit chilly. It didn't matter much as the cool temperature made for pleasant walking the hilly streets. The photos I took, however, were less than stellar. The fog dampened the colors and made for very bland skies. It wasn't until we got on the Catalina Express for the return to Long Beach that the sun came out over the harbor. This was shot off the back of the ferry as we left the dock. The colors are still muted, but the sun provides some contrast that had been missing in the rest of the day's photos.
