Days 4 & 5
Sunday:
Today I got up early and went over to the bar to help out whilst the rugby match was on. It was a shame that the Springboks lost, there were a couple of Aussies there watching the game with us and they were unpopular by the end of the match. We were just eating breakfast after the match when Will called and asked if I wanted to go to church with him and his family. So I grabbed my stuff and Siseko drove me to Leeuwenbosch, which is the lodge which Will lives at. We went to church and then to this little farm store after, which was so cute.
Then we went back to Leeuwenbosch and went in the swimming pool there, because it was so hot. It was between 35 and 40 degrees here today. Then we had lunch with Uncle Bill and Aunt Rose, William's parents, whom I had met before when I came with my family and stayed at Leeuwenbosch. It was lovely and so nice to spend time with a family and somewhere else than the sports club. Will and Heidi have a gorgeous black cocker spaniel called Gaby, shes three and mad as anything. She's really friendly though and loves a fuss. They also have a serval, which is kind of like a small cheetah, the children call her Kitty. She is about 3 months old and lets the children pick her up and carry her around, they said 'she's lovely as long as you don't let her get hungry'. Both Gaby and Kitty followed us to the swimming pool and then down to Uncle Bill and Aunt Rose's house.
After lunch Will bought me back to Sidbury Sports Village, which is the name of the place where I am staying. There wasn't a lot to do this afternoon as it was so hot. I completely forgot to take a photo today though, as I rushed out to church I forgot to take a camera with me, which is why this is written under Monday's photo.
Monday:
Today we got up at a more reasonable time and got ready to go into town. We went food shopping, which was funny, because Stacey was commenting how expensive things were, but it was all far cheaper than it is at home! We got home at around lunchtime and then relaxed for a while. Then we went up to Leeuwenbosch again to use their pool, because it is seriously hot again today.
When we got back it had cooled down quite a lot so Stacey and I played tennis for a while and then had dinner. I got a South Africa sim card today, so Sam got a calling card and I spoke to him on the phone for nearly an hour before I went to bed. It was lovely to talk to him again properly and catch up on life a bit. That's one of the hardest things about being here, that I can't just call Mum or Sam for a chat very easily as it is so expensive and the internet isn't great so Skype doesn't really work. Hopefully now I have a South African sim card it will get a little easier.
This photo is of the house which I am staying in with Stacey. My room is on the left-hand side. I have a room with an en-suite bathroom and then the lounge and kitchen are in the middle and Stacey's room is on the right. It's a lovely little house.
