BUCKLED UP

I saw this on a cottage at Kelling and liked the intricate shape, but it wasn't until I put it on the computer that I noticed all the detail. I assume it is some sort of strengthening method, and I expect there is a special name for it too.

It has been a rather damp day today though we had a walk and a bit of birding before the rain set in. But as it rained I managed a visit to a lovely shop in Holt and wandered round their cookware department. Not something I usually get to do during birding expeditions. The tally of the day was, for G: Bar-tailed Godwit, Turnstone and Little Stint. For me: 3 wooden spoons, a lasagna dish and a hunk of Stilton.

Off now to make a fish pie in my new dish.
