Holes in lawn

My lawn is beginning to look like a mini war zone. Dozens of small holes have appeared.
My research has probably identified the likely culprit
Looks like the burying of nuts in the autumn. Have to watch out for a forest of oaks growing in my lawn next year if they are not collected!
