Today I got a new phone! The Samsung Galaxy S2. First impressions are that it's very sleek and shiny, fast, colourful and a bit hard to use. I have two weeks to decide if I like it or not and return it.

Tonight was a presentation by Andrew Lamb, the president of Engineers Without Borders UK. His message is simple and very true - why are engineers spending whole careers making fast cars go faster when there are billions of people living around the world who have no access to clean drinking water?
