An Old Airman's Life

Mockingbird Station

Today was a hectic day at work. I am teaching a coworker all the procedures I perform to create one of our databases. Last month, I captured a video of everything I did. Since then, she transcribed the video into a "How To" booklet. She did a good job, but it was still a challenge. Have you ever tried to write down all the steps in any large task you perform at work? If not, try it some time. All those little steps that take longer to write down than to perform bloat the process. The little pieces of common knowledge that you find has left the office during recent retirements and reside only in your brain that have to be described in great detail, task your patience. The questions about why do you do it this way or in this order are met with "Because." And you feel stupid because you don't like that answer.

Anyway, I spent too long in the office and was not able to make my normal public transportation connections. The other guy in the office gave me a ride to Mockingbird Station. This is one of the light poles leading into the underground station. Each is similarly tiled and has a stained glass mockingbird on top.
