....lost in the labyrinth....
The Daughter took this shot of a paper lantern labyrinth. There was a light night in town tonight....lots of light shows, art, fireworks, and stalls and kiosks....plus a silent disco!
Went to work today again....big mistake again.....after a very distrurbed night, went off at 7.50, by 8.05 when I parked up I knew it was a mistake. Did two lessons and then came home at lunch time....... and lay on the floor for two hours.
Strangely enough the back began to ease about 7.00 p.m. and by 9.00 it felt o.k., just a slight niggle. Good job too! At 12.30-ish the Daughter phoned, to say she was close to home but had found an old man wandering the street and didn't know what to do. The Boss and I got up and went out to help. The old guy is a local, seen him lots of time walking his little dog....but this time he was very confused and very cold. He claimed he had had enough and was heading to the river! He'd been out a couple of hours slowly shuffling his way about half a mile from his flat and was very upset. We managed to get his address out of him and the Bosss and the Daughter took him back home while I dialled 999 for an ambulance.....and then guided them to his flat.
To cut a long story short, his wife died a while ago, his dog died recently and he has no next of kin.....we think he was serious about the river and wanted to end it all....we left him in the care of the paramedics and contacted his District Nurse who promised to let us know what happens. Think we'll keep an eye out for him and if we see him at the shop etc again we'll make a point of speaking to him. I'm just so pleased and proud of the Daughter who stopped to help, she might just have saved his life!
The back is a bit easier today. We're due out for a curry/50th birthday party tonight.....and I've made the big decision....no fishing tomorrow....no fishing until the back is better.
