'Tenor Horns too soft'

And that caused me problems recently. This is my comfort film, 'Brassed Off' and it says so many things about so many things.

Firstly, it has a stunning performance by the fantastic late Pete Poselthwaite. Secondly, it shows you that no matter how bad things get, the band can help see you through. It is a story about normal people whose dedication to their cause brings happiness to themselves and others in the lightest and darkest of times and although it is littered with technical inaccuracies, it always makes me feel better and the overall message applies to every band in the country.

In this particular scene, Andy (Ewan McGregor) the solo horn player lost his horn in a game of pool and when they were called to play at the hospital window of the ailing conductor Danny (Pete Poselthwaite), he had to whistle his part.

It wasn't until sight reading the same arrangement a few weeks ago that I realised they had actually completely left the Solo Horn part out of the film and I had no idea how it went! Thank you very much Film4!
