Portsmouth

We were given a weekend break as a gift at Christmas and had chosen The Red Lion in Fareham because of it's close proximity to Portsmouth and had been told it was a lovely place, so were looking forward to it.

However, when we arrived and tried to check in, the company who supply the voucher and make the booking for you ( Fresh Weekends ) hadn't made reservations for us. To give credit where credit's due, the nice girl at reception tried to find a solution, but they were fully booked ( altho I suspect there was a better class of room free as we could see her talking to the manager, but he just shook his head ) and the only other offer she could get from Fresh Weekends was an hours drive away. So we've come home and will have to rebook, but I can't bear to speak to the Fresh Weekends girl at the mo as I'm pretty TICKED OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still, we did manage a nice few hours in Portsmouth and coffee up the Spinaker Tower, but this view of the lovely HMS Victory was all we got this time.
