Log store, work in progress.Very nearly complete.
The log store is very nearly complete. That is until Mrs. G came out to inspect as I was beginning to feel rather smug. The bad weather has seriously interrupted the progress. I did have the roof on temporarily, and the strong winds made me remove the temp roofing sheets. It seems to have been raining ever since. Yesterday was a grand day, and even with the dodgy hip, with the generous use of analgesia, I managed to get a good bit done. My ace brother-in-law Keith arrived and said that he had timed it right. I know that he had set off from deepest, darkest Yorkshire last week-end, and had turned back when his tree surgeon advised him he needed to get his arse over to Sheffield ASAP. No contest really.Apart from some fine tuning we are nearly done. Mrs. G says that it might be wise to extend from the extension, and that would give me additional under cover space to chop kindling and split logs. Methinks she is expecting another savage winter, the third year in succession.I hate this time of year, not enough daylight, and when you have it , merde, il pleurait. Onwards and upwards. Back to the drawing board.
Adios.
