Stages of autumn

It was such a sodden, cold day that I thought twice about taking my camera with me for the walk - then decided I might as well. Peering from underneath the waterproof hood I was amazed at how, despite the pouring rain and grey sky, the autumn colours were still prominent and I liked the way the groups of trees were offering the different stages from green through gold to yellow and then to a final sienna before some trees were rendered skeletal. This particular blip benefits from the trees on the right having almost completely shed their leaves thereby enhancing the view of the misty hill in the distance.

Once I had towelled down the two dogs and then myself, had a cuppa and a bite of lunch I decided not to venture outside again. In fact it was a perfect day to try and complete a cushion cover for my middle grandson without being enticed outside to do more gardening.
