Come on in, the water's lovely!
Feeling a bit low yesterday, probably as much to do with the weather as anything. But today is different. The sun is shining, the sky is blue and the wind brisk. We had a long walk this morning and met a few others also enjoying the sunny day, including the owners of a delightful, bumbly, year old border collie called Layla. The two young dogs immediately started to have great fun together eventually jumping into this pool for a refreshing - if muddy - dip. I confess I was glad that my dog was the retriever as Layla emerged from her swim totally dishevelled, with her long coat dripping with muddy water and entangled with bits of bracken and other debris. The owners continued with me on the walk and the two dogs happily exhausted each other with Bruce never far away trying to keep them under control. The we met up with two riders on horseback, a dalmatian and a 6 month old golden retriever all with respective owners. Unfortunately it was all too busy for me to snap a quick blip of the gathering - probably just as well as it would probably have been a bit of a blur as I was trying to keep control of Cara and Bruce at the same time.
Back home and into the garden where I have been busy emptying my compost bins and mulching wherever I can. It is forecast to get colder next week, so today has been a good window of opportunity after a disappointingly damp spell.
Both dogs are now sound asleep and the sun is still shining!
