Nearing Monteverde

Today we took a boat ride from La Fortuna to Montevede across the Lake Arenal. When we were nearing Monteverde, the cloud forest city, i snapped some shots of these rolling hills. You can see some sheep and cows in the picture.

After the boat ride we were driven to the city of Monteverde and Santa Elena. Dirt roads with sharp curves got me feeling el puko by the time we got to Santa Elena. We arrived at our cabins after the sun has set. They were located on a hill with a great view of the city and the cloud forest. Man those clouds move fast!

The owner there only spoke spanish and he looked like he was shocked to have people ask him for a room to stay. I guess he doesnt get too many visitors. When we finally got a room it was beautiful and quite, a nice change from the loud hostels.
