Murmuration
Otherwise known as a chattering, cloud, congregation, or clutter of Starlings.
This flock - sorry - murmuration have gathered to roost on the local police station's aerials. "what's that sarge? Can't 'ear you - got a starling on me aerial".
Quite a modest gathering really. I can remember seeing tens of thousands of them gathering, swooping and descending upon the trees in a number of London squares, darkening the sky as they passed over.
They are slightly pesky birds I suppose. They make quite a noise, as they go about mimicking other birds, but they're not in the same league as the Minah bird or particularly the Lyre bird. You may have seen this David Attenbrough clip before, but always worth another view to see and hear the Lyre imitating camera shutters and chainsaws!
