Visitors

I had visitors today.

I stepped outside this afternoon and this lady and her 8 children were on my front lawn. She got a fright and took off with the family in tow - heading around to the back of the house.

Of course I immediately stepped back inside for my camera, then moved more cautiously outside, not wanting to scare them again. They were sitting on the back lawn and didn't seem too worried about me, but Mummy duck was worried about the neighbours dog that was barking and growling at them through the fence, so she got up and moved the family on again.

She took them off behind an overgrown part of the section and I didn't like to follow her as I figured she was already upset enough. I assume she came from the nearest creek or the Buller river, both about 500 metres away. Mind you, whichever one she came from they had to cross roads to get here.

I hope she manages to keep them all safe.

On another topic all together, I cannot thank you all enough for your comments, stars and hearts yesterday. I feel a bit of a fraud as the capture really was just lucky timing. Thank you!
