of pastel shades

But strong willed stems
climbing fences
flowers peeping through foliage
brightening the garden
tantalising in their vulnerability

Happy to be cut
to adorn rooms and window sills

But here today
teasing you

Out of season and fake,
A reminder of warmer days.
