Is Old Best?

What is this you may ask? Well....it's the 19mm, one-piece, aluminium/magnesium gold-anodized dome tweeter from my circa 1989 Monitor Audio Audio One speakers!

These beauties are only 240mm high, they were made before the digital age, yet they sound the same as the day I bought them at a Hi-Fi exhibition, I think in Glasgow! Even better, I had taken Straight Outta Compton as it was perfect to test new speakers, funky ass bass-line and a good police siren to test the tweeters!

They cost a fortune for a ginga YTS back then....probably over £150 but they're still with me and I've never regretted buying them. Back then Commodore 128 computers were still popular (128kb of RAM) my mum still had a twin tub washing machine and techno music was in its infancy!

How things have moved on, I have grey in my beard, I like gardening and duI only get pissed about once a year. At Sangha last night we talked about insubstantiality and impermanence and yeah....the sounds that have come outta this baby have changed a bit......from Adamski to Zero 7, Puccini and Robert Armani the tweeters remain as sweet as when they came out of the box!
