Human readable

... versus non-human readable: that's how we refer to different archival records now, including photographic records. Human readable objects include this print made with a Kodak No 1 camera circa 1888, and 20th century 35mm colour film negative , while non-human readable objects include flash cards, thumb drives, memory cards, hard drives, CDs and DVDs.
Something that was made over 100 years ago is still readable and usable today while what is now being made digitally is already non-human readable and may become unusable within a decade or less.
