Ready for my close-up
I wasn't gonna do The American Idol Experience this year, but changed my mind at the last second. This meant I wasn't dressed very well for it and didn't feel all that prepared, but it was also nice not to be nervous all day since I didn't know I was gonna do it! I ended up singing Black Horse and the Cherry Tree. I love that song, but there's not much room to move in it, musically speaking (especially in the 90-second edited version they use). So anyway. It was the third time I've sung there, and the first time I've lost. I thought this was funny, as I was the only American in my group (against a Brazilian and an English girl)...and I failed to win "AMERICAN idol". Ah well. The English girl won, and that made me very happy because she was so cute (only 14 years old) and SO nervous. It was good to see her win. I was also happy to get my makeup done, sing a song, get some applause, and then go about my business instead of sticking around for the finale show. We rode/played Midway Mania (I got the high score for our car!), had dinner in "Morocco", walked around EPCOT, saw some of the ELO concert, and came back for a relatively early night.
So this is a pic of me with all my crazy makeup on. You probably can't tell how crazy/thick/overdone it is from the iPhone picture...but I sure can! And I'm using this space mostly for my own benefit anyway, so that's what I'm commemorating for today. And today was a good day.
