Miracles
Today's the day .......................... to go to an Art Gallery
Went to a great exhibition today in the Dean Gallery in Edinburgh - or at least it used to be called that, but now it seems to have been demoted to being the Gallery of Modern Art Two. Not sure why?!
Anyway - the exhibition is the new one which started yesterday of the paintings of the Scottish Colourist painter - FCB Cadell. I've always loved his pictures and the 80 or so on display look as fresh and alive as if they had been painted yesterday.
In case you're wondering - this is the view from the entrance of the gallery where this installation by Nathan Coley can be seen. It was originally exhibited at Tate Liverpool as part of the 2007 Turner Prize. The phrase 'There Will Be No Miracles Here' is taken from a 17th Century royal proclamation made in a French town that is supposed to have been the frequent site of miracles ..................................
