Autumn leaves

Today's the day ............................... for the nights to draw in

By the time I leave work now at half past five, it's already getting quite dark. The cars have their headlights on and the windows of houses are lit up behind closed curtains. I think the clocks go back this weekend too, don't they? - so that will make it even darker at that end of the day.

This beech tree, down by the River Kent though, seemed to shine through the gloom with its bright yellow autumn leaves. Hope it manages to hang on to them for as long as possible ........................
