Autumn in the Woods.

Had a lovely walk through Culloden forest this afternoon. There were lovely woody, leafy smells and still some signs of autumn colour about. I was surprised by the amount of green there was as well! It was a beautiful mild, calm day - like nature was taking a pause before the next blast of wintery weather hits us.

My day livened up considerably with the arrival of the grandchildren and their parents for a dinner of homemade pizza, salad and homemade potato wedges. By the time we had finished that it was too late to go on the planned badger hunt so Sutherland just stood on the patio with his torch shouting"Hello badgers!" Not surprising that he didn't spot the one who lives up the hill!
