Bulb Bowls

Last year I bought hyacinth bulbs but didn't get round to planting them.

This year I have managed to plant three bowls of hyacinths and two of narcissus (which I'm not sure are suitable for bowls and might have to rethink the two on the left). And, to keep them dark, instead of putting them under the stairs, where I can't check on them without shifting the coat stand, they're in a filing cabinet in the garage where I can take a quick peek and shut them up again. (By the way, the labels are those wooden stirrers that are totally useless in a latte but good enough to write on).

Hopefully we'll have fragrant blooms in the winter.
