Still full this morning from last night's meal at the best restaurant I've ever been to.
It is in Doune, on the western tip of Knoydart. Our b&b owner called in the morning to see if they had space, and she then told us what was on the menu. It is a fixed meal, no choices here!
Then we set off at about 5pm to walk the 6 miles across the island in time for the 7.30 meal time.
5 miles were on the tarmac lane across the 'rough bounds' of Knoydart moorland, then a small wooden finger post marked "Doune here" took us along a rough footpath and to the cluster of houses clinging to the rocky shoreline overlooking the Sound of Sleat.
The other guests had arrived on foot or by boat, moored in the sheltered cove.
The dinner started with the finest soup I have ever tasted - spicy Cumbernauld soup.... amazing. We both took up the offer of seconds.
Mains consisted of a fantastic fish pie, served from the dish yourself, a gorgeous combination of smoked haddock and local salmon, topped with really buttery home made puff pastry......
Desert was a fab chocolate roulade, followed by gorgeous local cheeses.
The best restaurant in the world.
If you want to go, it's here. Don't forget to book!
