Top of Britain!
Climbed the Big Ben today!
I'm a great believer that it's not the getting to the top of the mountain that counts it's how you got there.
So that's why I told MrsEG this morning that we're weren't taking the "tourist path" up, but going via Carn Mor Dearg (our first Munro) and it's airy namesake Arete.
It was a long day, 6000 feet of climbing and 12 miles, and the Arete was quite hair-raising in places, but still good weather helped. And the views were stunning.
Despite some comments to the contrary on the ascent, on coming down the "tourist path" mrsEG did thank me for taking her up the interesting way. Although I had to promise not to do it again!
