Lights and darks

Wild winds and rain in the south-west today and so dark indoors. It's a day for keeping the lights on. My mother's elderly eyes prefer two uplighter standard lamps to ceiling lights, so these stayed off, but the two sources of artifical light, plus the slight light from the rain-spattered window, created lovely mulitple shadows on the ceiling. On a positive note: it's still mild.

Not nice weather for the little birds, though, who struggle to fly in these rapid gusts of wind. This is when Blipland comes into its own, for me: I can nip and have a look at pictures of spring in Oz and NZ - makes me feel a whole lot more cheerful!
