Great Spotted Woodpecker

My last attempt at photographing a woodpecker resulted in a photoshopped 'essence of woodpecker', as Jon Davey described it.

This one is a bit better - still rather rough around the edges as I took it from behind the window, with my lens poking between slats of the vertical blinds. Still, it's an improvement. And I always get great delight in seeing these giants joining the little songbirds on the garden peanut-feeder.
