Know what

I learned to pronounce the Finnish R today. Though I'm a Finn, I've never before consciously pronounced R correctly in my native, but today it just went right when I asked Mom if there was any raparperipiirakka (rhubarb pie) left for me to eat. (And yes, there was!)

I still remember how I was bullied for my "wrong R" in comprehensive school. It wasn't nice and it made me ashamed of speaking, though the bullies said it was just a joke. Nasty people create so much negativeness and anxiety, really, but I grew over that.

Now I'm feeling enlightened, though I think the Finnish R is actually a bit weird. I'm used to the French/German R, so it may stay in my mouth now and then.

Little things can matter a lot at times.
