Boys!

Those parents who have boys may smile knowingly. Raising boys has it's own particular challenges. Even those parents who have all girls realise that a lot of the issues they face centre around boys.

This image amuses me, I have given it this effect to improve it! Edgar is so tired he can barely focus. He has had four days with his mates in Amsterdam. No parents or supervision at all. Despite all the early nights, the fresh air and good nights sleep he says he's been having, he seems completely shattered.

They were organised to start with. They sorted out flights and an hotel and he had saved up a lot of money. Then I suspect it became less organised. He lost his passport on the way out and is completely broke despite having had a Greek style bailout by bank of mum and dad. But he doesn't seem unhappy!

For me this captures part of the experience of raising boys, great fun, but a significant element of risk, which they seem to breeze past and laugh about later.
