One small step for mankind
A lot happened today, but mostly routine stuff, nothing remotely funny happened today either, so it was a chore of a day. If your lookig for a laugh today your in the wrong place, just read yesterdays update again and use some imagination.
I get up in the morning, pay my bills, phone the insurance, work out how skint I am, the rental company comes and picks up their horrible zafira as my courtesy car period is now over.
This leaves me to run around in the banger golf gti, which I dont really have a problem with except it isnt running right so Dad is coming over have a look at it.
However the entire day is really focussed on my youngest daughters first day at Nursery. It just seems like yesterday that I was seeing Holly off to nursery, Im not really sure where the time has gone. This is the first tiny step to being detached as a father, before long it will be teenage strops, make up and boys.
Ruby is excited about going and she has her backpack on from 9.00 in the morning, despite not going to nursery until 1.30. You could hardly hold her back, it was like "are we there yet", except with "is it time to go to nursery yet"
She is only there for an hour today and the teacher requests that I stay the whole time on hand in case she freaks out and uses her superhuman superhero skills to turn everybody to ice.
This hour passess quickly and is fairly uneventfull, except for the fact that she put what looks like the teachers jacket in the toy washing machine and steals another little girls snacktime carrot sticks. Hey, if your not fast your last, I say...
I take dad home and on the drive back, in a car finally better than the zafira, I take a racing line around a bend and can feel the back left wheel hot dog around the corner, braking late for the next bend, I poiint the car into the apex of the corner, build up the revs and accellerate out, jumping the hump back bridge dukes of hazard style before arriving home. Finally a car with blistering acceleration in comparison to the zafira, go kart handling and much much better looking.
Its only a shame it wasnt the golf, as I have been forced to drive my fathers knackered 10 year old nissan micra 1.0 litre until either the insurance sort out a cheque for the impreza or we can get the banger sorted out. Oh well, at least its not the zafira.
Nothing more to report today, except my camera is finally up and running and I may now be able to snap something remotely presentable rather than the recent iphone emergency blips. Thank you Iphone you seen me out a tight spot, but you dont really cut the blipping mustard.
On a different note, thank you all for your views, your kind comments and your inspiratation. 70 entries so far, 5743 views and 8 subscribers, which I am exceptionally pleased with. Thank you.
