The Coiled Spring
Birthday money to be spent this morning:-)) Got a pair of walking trainer/shoes in our Tiso store who were having their 1st birthday weekend which meant freebies to be had Got a pair of Merrell shoes, very light, waterproof with important a support arch and got a free pair of woollen socks, walking pole, year Tiso subscription which gives 10% off purchases. Very happy with them. Then as the River Almond walk is just across the road, Breagha got a good run there. Here she is, told to stay while her Papa was walking further up, she is a coiled spring waiting to ping away . .. . .. .
Some errands in town and after a nice lunch in Reids we went to get the Dine in for Ten at M&S. Picked up the gammon, but was then informed by the staff member that the offer was cancelled, due to NO PUDDINGS!! What, there are NO puddings left at all, can I not just pick something that would make it up to the Ten. "No, because it wouldn't got through the till properly" said the woman. It was only 3pm and still loads of mains and veg left. Not Happy.
Clocks change tonight, start of the dark nights - and in a couple of weeks it won't be light in the mornings till after 8. I see the UK government wants a 3 year trial on moving the clocks forward 1 hour. I don't think they realise just how long it would take for it to get light here in Scotland, after 9am anyway. I remember it was trialled back in the 60s, and we got given hi viz armbands to walk to school in as it was still dark as night on the walk to school.
