Oslo at play
An eventful day in Oslo. We went to the famous ski jump, which is indeed, completely vertiginous and is accompanied by a surprisingly interesting "ski museum" at which the benefits of "Kvikk lunsj" are extolled. Kvikk Lunsj is a famous product here (similar to a Kit Kat) which is taken out on long walks with an orange and is the classic refreshment/inticement to the kids to come out. It's made by Kraft, so as an adopted Brummie, is inherently evil as far as I'm concerned.
Anyway: returning to the city for some lunch, we stumbled across a fashion show involving these strange Argyll pyjamas and rather young girls flouncing around on an improvised catwalk. Odd, but quite watchable, and the first real sign of people letting their hair down (unless you count the extremely drunk behaviour of Friday nights).
After this, it's home time, which will be quite nice.
