Recycling
The little round yurt in this pic of the Occupy Norwich camp (Day 15) had been entirely built of recycled materials: bean poles, a trampoline cover, cardboard and bubble wrap and took an hour to construct.
The camp is looking great, and is getting a steady stream of visitors every day. Visiting speakers are being arranged including a representative of a local Credit Union and someone who is going to talk about co-operatives. All good stuff to raise awareness of different ways of doing things.
More pics from today can be found here.
I guess the most 'alternative' things we do in our household include being members of the local Car Club: we don't need a car so a couple of years ago we joined the local Car Club (there are several up and down the country) where you can hire a car for as little as a couple of hours at a time up to several days and having an Ecology Building Society account.
We've not had a telly for years but I don't think that really counts.
One of my Facebook friends who I actually was friends with in reality commented on one of my posts about 'Be the change you want to see' by saying 'please don't preach, it doesn't suit you'. I gave him the virtual finger.
