When we were kids, mum used to make amazing bonfire toffee, real chewy toffee, none of this brittle rubbish. When I went home last week I asked her for a recipe & had a go at making some. It was blinking perfect, if I do say so myself. Tonight I had a go at making it again, but left the pan on for a smidge too long & it's set too hard. Still tastes good though & there's plenty of ingredients left to try again.
