Day forty-three: still crazy after all these years
My mom and I did many things this weekend. We saw the Eudora Welty exhibits at MSU, had a great massage, and went to Memphis.
Mom has always wanted to go to Memphis, so this was really cool. We walked on Beale Street and went to the National Civil Rights Museum.
Oh, and we saw this guy :) Paul Simon is now 70. We were at an outdoor amphitheater and it was cold. At one point in time, Paul said to us, "You are brave souls! It's 46 degrees out!"
It was chilly, but the opportunity to see Paul Simon play was terrific! He played songs from his current album (which is terrific, if you haven't checked it out already, you might want to!) and his older stuff, too.
The big thing was that you could tell he clearly enjoyed singing and performing. I hope that I have that same sense of happiness about what I am doing at age 70!
