The Beyton Geese

Staying in a little village near Stowmarket for two nights.

I hate the dark nights but went out for a recce round the village and saw this sign on the village green.

Apparently, for some years now, there has been a small gaggle of geese living freely in the village, grazing at will and generally holding traffic up.

But of late, there have been no ganders so they have dropped in number and there is now a local campaign to add a couple of males and hopefully see the population rise once more.

I did not see them but, as I said, it was dark by the time I got here. Will look for them in the morning.

Off for a bite to eat. Fancy a bit of goose if it's on the menu!
