Football ephemera
A day of clearing out, selling, donating and disposing.
Thanks to the cost being met by Sheffield Council we are having our loft re-insulated and so I have two weeks to clear it out. Bags of old clothes to charity shops and children's clothes to a nearly new sale and a sift through boxes of old football programmes, sports programmed and related stuff I have accumulated over the years.
This reminds me of days pre emails, texts and the Internet. In fact, life as we know it! When after humiliating Derby Day defeats or relegations fans circulated photocopied sheets of poems, mocked up adverts etc around schools, pubs and workplaces to do what many do by text and email now. Wind up their mates.
This was circulated after a disastrous performance by Wednesday goalkeeper Chris Woods when they lost 2-0 to the Blades in 1991. One of the goals going through Woods' legs.
