A very special spoon
This is my favourite spoon. It's a tablespoon that has seen many years of service. When my parents married, the lady next door to Mum's family, a Mrs Williams, gave Mum the spoon as a wedding present. We have no idea how long it had been in use before then.
It measures a perfect tablespoonful and it good to handle. I don't allow it into the dishwasher, feeling it needs a little respect for its age.
Read on if you are interested in the processing:
It was photographed against a white background and then cut out as a selection. The background has been made from an image of one of the stones in our back wall (old and covered in fungi). This background was distorted to change the perspective and a twist introduced. Then the spoon was placed on as a layer. Curves were applied to the layers separately and a touch of selective sharpening.
Phew!
