Hiking the Active Complex Volcano Pacaya

Pacaya is one of the most active volcanoes in Latin America. It first erupted 23,000 year ago and last erupted in May 2010.

As we ascended the 9,000 ft volcano we were engulfed by clouds of mist and at times couldnt see much. Then suddenly the clouds and mist would dissipate.

Loved sitting in the steam vents. Best part were sitting in the natural "sauna room" that was created with last years eruption, roasting marshmallows at the steam vent, and trying to jump of the volcanic rocks for a "good shot."
