In safe hands

My favourite fixture in the footballing season. The Rememberance fixture. Initiated by Leicester City, now being done by most football clubs. The nearest game to November 11th is designated to remember all who have lost their lives in conflict.
Giant poppies are paraded by Cadet Corps, Standards unfurled and carried by British Legions from across the county, members of the various services are on parade, music by the British Legion Pipe Band and the skills of the RAF helicopter pilot are brought to the fore in delivering the match ball to the officials on the centre circle.
The applause was deafening as the helicopter hovered and the pilot dipped the nose to all four sides of the stadium before flying off.
Thank you Leeds supporters for a beautifully observed silence, pity we lost but hey ho, the real winners will be the Legion who will benefit from the generosity shown by the 28,000 crowd and the auctioning off of the poppy embroidered shirts the players wore today......
