Coming up for air

1. A meeting I've been waiting a long time for happens today. It lasts way longer than it was meant to and filled with much more excitement than I imagined it would be. These are two of the best and brightest people working in the industry I work in.It's not that I ever forget that, but it's really good to be reminded of it and truly excellent to be part of these conversations.

2. Part of my life has fallen off track. Again. I try my best to claw it back, but when I leave for the evening it hasn't worked. I need to count on things passing. They do.

3. I leave into Friday rush hour. I can honestly say I am thankful that I don't drive to and from this city more often. It is a fraught and dangerous way of moving between places filled with aggression, stupidity, tension and risk.

4. Speaking of which, we have a show in Kilmarnock tonight.

5. It's packed and people love it. I'm here for the post show, which after one thing and another, I end up hosting. Later, my mum - who was with me at the show - texts to say that she is in awe of me for being able to do that at the last minute. She says I remind her of Dad. Cheers. I'll drink to that.
