The Birds

The moment I saw these birds rising and falling in the thermals of a misty , hot sky outside the windows of the hotel in Delhi I remembered how - on my two previous visits - this constant sight had seemed so distinctive that it became (for me at least) almost a signature image of India.

Are they Kites of some sort? Someone will know, I am sure.
