Code Enforcement
Well, the environmental Code Enforcement cops have been around the neighbourhood.
One of our neighbours made a complaint about one of the other neighbours, and before you know it, EnviroCop is round to measure the height of the lawn. Bang, Code Enforcement warrant served. EnviroCop can't drive around in big SUVs if he can't fine people.
Trouble is that it's a house we've wanted left alone (as it's hidden) and so has avoided EnviroCops for the last few years, and despite being next to us, we haven't minded that much about it's condition.
But worse to come is EnviroCop then start snooping round the neighbourhood. Code Enforcements, much like a bus come in threes. So the lot of land on the corner got whacked with a notice as well. Which is annoying to say the least.
Problem is that code enforcements make people think about disposing of property. So whilst we've had no neighbours for 4 years, the owner of the house has to do something.
Same with the lot of land at the end. Many years ago it used to be a garden/nursery, so it has the most fabulous wild look about it now. But now the owner wants out, and someone will buy it, chop down the fantastic trees, clear the lot of the fabulous plant life, and make the whole of the close we live in, visible to everyone.
I see some large bushes in the future of this house.
