Learner Ambassador

This is Yates a young cheetah from the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre in De Wildt. He is still learning how to be a cheetah ambassador and was nervously looking in the door deciding if he should enter.

Rita from the Cheetah farm gave a very informative talk to the children before she tried to bring Yates in to met them. He was very reluctant and wanted to rather investigate the rest of the school. Luckily tomorrow they will be bringing a more experienced cheetah and hopefully the children will be able to touch him.

We should always respect the animals instincts. Even though they have been brought up in captivity, they are still wild animals. It was just such a privilege to be so close to such a magnificent animal.

The rest of the day is going as normal just that it is still so hot.
