Pick Up Pencils

These sharpened pencils are the fruits of my labours this evening. We have prospective parents evening at my school on Thursday and we've all been busy preparing - cleaning, tidying, lovely displays - you get the idea.

When the children and their parents come to the evening we have a quiz to keep them entertained and get them involved in all the activities of the evening. To go with the quiz, we give each of them a pencil welcoming them to the school. So, we have 1000 newly 'personalised' pencils but, of course, these come as unsharpened blanks. So someone has to sharpen them.

At home we have a desktop pencil sharpener which, although a manual hand turned one, is a BILLION times faster than using a standard sharpener.

So, these are the 125 pencils I sharpened. I'm thinking of playing pick up sticks with them.
