Time and place.
I did the second leg of the Rotherham Ring Route today - Fence to Harthill for anyone who knows the area. It was another grey day, but still and dry, so although not a great day for photography, not a bad day for a walk. I'd hoped for a flyover of 300 pink-footed geese, the sudden dramatic influx of 300 waxwings, or a herd of 300 wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plains of Rotherham, but alas, it was not to be. So Plan B it is then.
I can't complain - I did see a kingfisher, a heron, a buzzard, a flock of long-tailed tits amongst other birds. A busy day, hence the late blip - dentist's first., the walk, then Bird Study Group meeting, followed by a pint, so all in all, a fine day.
