Hard Window Coverings

Retirement day 70 - Install new hard window coverings on windows. You don't see them here, but they are "faux" wood blind and will look very sleek and modern to us for awhile until we get used to the new look. After 14 years, the original window coverings went kaput. I used to work at JCPenney in their window covering department. So, this brought back some memories, even though we didn't install or anything like that. My husband HATES doing window covering installations.

Went to the big mall in Portland to pick them up and enjoyed the brief ride, looking at all the trees still in their glory. The weather guy on TV was explaining that the trees, this season, are not losing their leaves and we are having a prolonged autumn season and also because of the conditions early in the year, the trees have stored a lot of sugar and so there is more red in the coloring than usual. Something like that anyway. I wondered why so many trees still had all their leaves.

Tomorrow...a little trip to see a park on Lake Vancouver and Frenchmen's Bar. If I can get hubby to stay and not want to rush back home to work in the yard. Supposed to be a good day tomorrow and hopefully we can find our balance in enjoying the day.
