Kelsey's Finale

Today marks the end of an era, our daughter's final home volleyball match. For more than half her life she has spent hours and hours (as have we) in gymnasiums across the country, culminating with two years of play here at Long Beach City College. She has proven that you don't have to be a giant to play college level volleyball, even in southern California. We couldn't be prouder of her hard work over the years and how skilled she has become at her setting position.

Tonight's match was bittersweet, as Kelsey suffered a slight concussion during last night's contest and was not allowed to play in her final home match. She was recognized prior to the first serve, which typically would have been hers had she been able to play. This final photo is made possible by my camera's autofocus as I am not certain I would have been able to focus accurately through my misty eyes.
