Remember

I found this bracelet at the antique store, at first sight I thought it was American, but on closer examination I found it was from the Netherlands. The coins were minted mostly in 1939 and 1941. Got me thinking about what was happening there at that time. The Netherlands were occupied by German forces. A quick Wikipedia search shows there was a brief National Strike against the anti-Jewish measures in February of 1941.
I wore this bracelet today and thought of the good people of the Netherlands during our 2 minute silence. Even the 4-year-olds stood without speaking.
